Heart of Gold ("HOG," "we," "us") operates on a paid subscription model. This Refund Policy explains when and how subscribers can obtain a refund for subscription charges. This policy applies in addition to the subscription terms in our Terms of Service.
Every new member receives a free trial before any subscription charge:
During the free trial you are not charged. No payment method is required to begin a trial. You may cancel at any time during the trial through your profile settings and you will never be billed.
During our open beta period (through July 1, 2026), trials are extended for new signups so that no one is charged before our official launch date.
After your free trial ends, continued access to Heart of Gold requires an active paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance to the payment method on file. Pricing tiers and any founding-member discounts are disclosed on our Subscribe page before you confirm your subscription.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except as set out below or where a refund is required by applicable consumer protection law.
We will review refund requests in good faith and may issue a full or partial refund in the following circumstances:

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 3 business days and to resolve them within 10 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method; depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the credit to appear on your statement.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your profile settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to have access until that date and will not be charged again.
If you cancel during your free trial, no charge is ever made. To avoid being charged when your trial ends, cancel before the trial expiry date shown in your profile.
If you disagree with a charge, we ask that you contact us first at hello@heartofgoldaustin.com so we can resolve it directly. Initiating a chargeback with your card issuer before contacting us may result in your account being suspended pending review, as required by our payment processor's rules.
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers and posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
